VISCONEWS ISSUE #19 ·

Alissa Ambalaj is a converter and thermoformer that has built a modern and highly automated factory in Gaziantep in Türkiye. Since 2022, the company has been producing thermoformed products for the packaging industry for the domestic market and exports 30% to markets in the Middle East.

Türkiye is an important and competitive market for extruded sheet, with a lot of sheet extrusion capacity installed. High-tech equipment is a must-have to produce top quality products at competitive prices. “The quality of the PET sheet is our competitive advantage”, explains Kemal Kebenç, Board Member at Alissa Ambalaj. “We benefit from low energy consumption and man-hour-costs of the line. With viscotec technology we produce high-quality sheet at a reasonable cost.”

Cost-effective production
A viscotec sheet extrusion line is fully automated, simple to operate, energy efficient, and efficient in terms of material use. With a production capacity of 1,500 kg per hour and flexibility concerning the input material, the setup of Alissa Ambalaj’s line is fully optimized for cost-effective production. The automatic roll stack is designed for high capacity (HC), which provides higher extruder throughput and enensures excellent sheet surface quality. Only one operator is necessary to change and remove the sheet rolls.

Doubling capacity
Alissa Ambalaj generates a yearly turnover of 12 Million USD and currently works with 40 employees. To date, the annual production capacity is 12,000 tons of PET sheet and 4,800 tons of thermoformed products. The Turkish company is a relatively new player in the market, however, the company’s Management foresees a vast potential to grow their business and plans to double their PET sheet production capacity to 24,000 tons per year.
