BACHMANN GROUP launches environmental project with deCON iV+and viscoSHEET.

Being a long-standing supplier and manufacturer of packaging solutions, especially PET for food and pharma-ceuticals, BACHMANN has decided to actively take part in sustainable solutions. This sense of responsibility and pioneering spirit gave rise to the PAC2PAC project.
The family-owned BACHMANN GROUP, based in the Swiss canton of Lucerne, has more than 50 years of experience in logistics, quality assurance, and packaging producti-on, including high-volume, demanding products such as coffee capsules that require high-precision manufacturing. It provides innovative technology services to healthcare, food and non-food companies.
The company is now using the knowledge gained from this extensive experience in its unique PAC2PAC project to create the perfect cycle for PET packaging. By using thermofor-ming to turn plastic packaging back into high-quality packaging, a sus- tainable and resource-saving cycle  is created.

BACHMANN has found  strong partners from the  recycling value chain to  make this happen:  Sesotec, Starlinger viscotec, Krones and PETman.

The right equipment is needed to make this vision a reality, which is why the company opted for a deCON iV+ and a viscoSHEET. Reto Bachmann,CEO of BACHMANN GROUP, is  convinced: “With our major invest-ment in a new extrusion line including upstream decontamination, we will start producing our recycled PET sheet in 2025. With the PAC2PAC,  we are proving the feasibility of a  closed loop for PET packaging from the Swiss collection bag.”
The extrusion line and deCON unit are an essential pillar in the implementati-on of the project. “Starlinger viscotec has a great deal of experience and expertise in recycling, making them a valuable partner for us. The compact system is supplied to us from one single source and impresses with  its high efficiency and flexibility. The  system features modern operation with an intuitive user interface and automation options.”

"With the PAC2PAC project, we are proving the feasibility of a closed loop for PET packaging from the Swiss collection bag."
