"The investments made in our skilled team and our market leading decontamination and extrusion machinery has allowed us to be at the forefront of UK recycling processes."
Responsible. Recyclable. That‘s the mission of successful rPET sheet manufacturer Kalex. From the heart of the Forest of Dean, the company processes millions of waste plastic bottles from around the world, giving them a new life as super-clean, food-grade extruded sheet material. To stay ahead of the game, the company regularly invests in its production facilities with offerings from the manufacturer, Starlinger viscotec.
Since the opening of their extrusion’s facility in 2021, Kalex has repeatedly invested in updates for its existing system and thus continued to individualize it. The latest improvements: a mixing station, and a crystallizer 20, which was installed at the beginning of the year. Less maintenance as well as a constant and higher iV were among the reasons for the continuous improvement of the line: “The improvements have given us more flexibility in terms of possible input materials and a consistent and higher iV. But we have also been able to achieve a more costeffective mixing price. In particular, the crystallizer has enabled us to introduce more of our own thermoforming waste into the mix”.
