With the installation of the worldwide first viscoSHEET line for the commercial 24/7 production, Dannemann Global Extrusion increases its production capacity by another 7,000 tons of food approved rPET sheet. The company was founded in 2001 and is now one of the leading companies in the rPET sheet production. Located in the scenic land- scape of the Upper Austrian Salzkammergut, it is one of the prominent manufacturers of PET films for sort inserts, packaging for delicacte food as well as sweet goods. Furthermore, all kinds of blister for the food and technical industry are produced.

In 2008, Dannemann Global Extrusion was one the first European customers operating a viscoSTAR reactor for supercleaning and the iV increase of PCR PET flakes to produce 100 % food approved rPET sheet according to EFSA.

 

With the new investment in a viscoSHEET line equipped with a conical twin screw extruder, the flexibility was further increased in 2013. With 7 gravimetric dosing units, the material mixtures can be changed just in front of the extruder without the need of cleaning silos due to the cold feed of all in- house components without predrying.

 

“The outstanding mixing properties and the fast color changes, as well as the high flexibility in various kinds of input materials give us an advantage in the market“ says Markus Neudorfer, technical director of Dannemann Global Extrusion.

 

The line was installed by viscotec and Dannemann Global Extrusion technicians within 2 weeks and was handed over to 24/7 operation with customer personnel 6 weeks after delivery of the line.

 

Interview with Mr. Dannemann, managing partner:

 

viscotec: Dannemann has installed a viscoSHEET line and started production. Could you quickly outline the decision factors to choose this technology?

Mr. Dannemann: Most important for us is to provide our customers with the best sheet in regard of quality and efficiency. Therefore, we are focussing on the latest technologies.

 

viscotec: Which major benefits can you see in running the whole line viscoSTAR + viscoSHEET.

Mr. Dannemann: The main advantage compared to our competitors is the ability to provide our customers with 100 % food grade sheet made of recycled material.

 

viscotec: Which materials will be mostly processed in the line?

Mr. Dannemann: We predominantly use recycled materials which would be otherwise, due to their thermal sensibility, very difficult to process.

 

viscotec: What are the final products? What is the branch/market segment of your customers?

Mr. Dannemann: With the viscoSHEET line we are able to extend our product portfolio with several sheet specialities.
